McElroy Golf Classic Set For Monday, August 25

The Tom McElroy Golf Classic, held annually for each of the last 12 seasons, is set for Monday, August, 25, 2008 at the Spring Valley Country Club, Sharon, Mass.
The golf package includes lunch, greens fees, cart, dinner and awards. The cost is $250 per participant. The number of golfers is limited to 144. People can enter their own foursome, or a foursome can be arranged, if requested. Those who do not golf are welcome to attend the social and dinner and participate in the raffle. Registration forms will be mailed in July.

The golf classic supports the Tom McElroy Fund and the Boston College Soccer Community. The original purpose of the Tom McElroy Fund was to grant tuition assistance to Boston College soccer student-athletes in need. However, its success over the years allowed distribution of financial assistance to student-athletes in other sports. Since its inception, 91 student-athletes have benefited from $695,053 in total aid.

Locker rooms are available, and a specially designed scorecard is distributed to all golfers.
